We hear so many friends, family & customers say things like,
'I only recycle my grocery bags...' or
'I know it's not much, but I don't use plastic straws anymore' or
'I refill my dish detergent instead of buying new, but...'
We encourage you to think about it this way.
Each decision you make is important to the climate and sustainability. When you choose any of these seemingly small actions, it makes a real difference!
Take this one example. When we either recycle single use grocery bags or replace them by taking our own bags, it has a real life impact on the environment.
When you do just ONE THING, you are reducing our impact on wildlife
and the environment in a REALLY BIG way!!
There was a song we listened to a lot during my childhood. It's by folk artist, Andy Murray and it's called 'One Person At A Time'. It reminds us that everything starts with one person making a difference. As with so many other things, it's certainly true with sustainable living and zero waste.
Here's just part of the song's lyrics...
"Well, what can one person do?" is a very good question
if you don't do anything at all.
You can spend your time saving every little dime
or just curled up by the wall.
But if you think back some over all that's been done
and you wonder who did it and where it came from,
Figure it out, without a doubt,
One person at a time did it all.
One person at a time, it sure works fine,
Roll up your sleeves, sign on the dotted line.
Whatever gets done, is done by one,
One person at a time does it all, yeah!
One person at a time does it all."
